From the last half of the 19th century to the early 2oth, the years which corresponded with the end of the last Chinese (Qing) Dynasty, there was a proliferation of furnishings produced for the agrarian, as well as, the middle to upper middle class urban homes. We offer country/farmhouse pieces in elm and pine, either in their paint finish or in bleached wood, many being rustic and wabi sabi in design. We also search for old lacquer furnishings where we can have the paintwork restored and then re-lacquered, producing some outstanding works of visual art. Whether farmhouse or urban in style and design, Chinese antiques offer a bold design statement in any interior.
