A striking antique Chinese altar table crafted from solid pinewood, dating to the late Qing dynasty. The long, narrow table features gracefully everted flanges at either end and an open architectural base with decorative cutouts and carved scroll details. A geometric open fretwork panel centered beneath the top creates a strong focal point, while the dark painted finish is accented by warm traces of exposed wood and aged pigment. Generations of use have given the surface a richly layered, authentic patina.

This elegant console table was expertly crafted over 120 years ago and likely served as a family’s home altar where they paid their respects to revered ancestors. Its long, shallow proportions make it especially versatile in today’s interiors. Use it as an entry or hallway console, behind a sofa, beneath artwork, or as a dramatic display table for pottery and collected objects. The graphic silhouette and time-worn painted surface work beautifully in Santa Fe, wabi-sabi, boho chic, eclectic, mountain modern, or contemporary interiors.

This item will arrive Santa Fe in mid-October '26.
