Much of the antique furniture we find in India and China have similarities to designs from the West, particularly Europe, as well as in India from the Mid-east. Many Indian pieces will exhibit English or European influences, mostly Spanish and Portugeuse, and the architectrual elements oftern mirror Muslim and Moorish designs. Much of the antique and vintage elm and pine furniture from northern China has similarities to European country and farmhouse design. We find this melange of design influences exciting, and adds a “talking point” to traditional design.
