The proliferation in India of antique architectural elements, especially doors, has led to a renaissance in the creation of new furnishings using these antique elements. Antique interior doors, carvings, and paneling are used to construct armoires. Antique doors turned horizontally with antique column segments as legs are used to make both standard size headboards and complete beds. Antique doors are modified to make cabinet doors for buffet/sideboards or along with carvings, for the facade of a console table. These recreations are the ultimate expression in one of a kind upcycled furnishings.
