Antique Chinese Ancestral Portrait, gouache on paper, late Qing Dynasty, c. 1900, and were painted to honor deceased family members. This portrait of a noble family shows a distinguished patriarch and matriarch seated above 6 other family members, all seated in horsheback chairs. All are wearing silk robes with embroidered chest plates, and the woman have jeweled headdresses or crowns and the matriarch on the upper left has pearl earrings. 2 servants are serving them tea and cakes.Signs of age, and in a vintage frame with a classic brass hanging handle.
