Antique Indian Painted Teakwood Damachiya, 44Hx51x21

Antique Indian Painted Teakwood Damachiya,  which was a dowry chest commissioned by a father for his daughter to take with her to her new home. Its finish is old green, blue, red, and mustard paint, with intricately carved panel dividers, the panels of vintage tiles depicting nature and dieties. With it's original painted plinth and carved horse head corbels, this is an excellent example of Rajasthani folk art. C. 1880-1920.
