Antique Chinese Elm Buddha Cabinet
Antique Chinese Elm Buddha Cabinet of outstanding quality, the wood well patinated and with traces of its dark brown lacquer. The cabinet is in two sections, the base having 3 drawers over 2 doors and outlines of its original decoration. The step back top is heavily carved with dragon and spiritual motifs and there are two open trellised doors where the Buddha statue was kept. This came from a prosperous home in Shanxi Province, and is from the late 19th century, Qing Dynasty.
