Antique Indian Painted Teakwood Damachiya or dowry chest, possibly my all-time favorite! It is late 19th century from Rajasthan in original condition, including this magical faded teal color. The facade is profusely  carved with 3 mandala patterns and a sliding door opening, and the canted front legs each show 2 carved horse heads. a 10 out 0f 10!

This damachiya would have been commissioned by the bride's family for her to take to the marriage to hold important textiles and embroderies.
