A wonderfully rustic vintage Chinese stool crafted from solid elmwood, dating to the first half of the 20th century. The round seat rests on four slightly splayed legs joined by traditional stretchers, creating the simple, practical construction characteristic of Chinese country furniture. Generations of use have given the elm a rich, naturally weathered surface with visible grain, worn edges, old markings, and variations in tone that give each stool its individual character.
These stools are wonderfully versatile and can be used as occasional seating, a small side table, plant stand, or decorative accent. They are especially appealing displayed in a collection, where the variations in wood tone and patina emphasize their handmade character. Their simple form and aged elm work beautifully in Santa Fe, wabi-sabi, farmhouse, boho chic, mountain modern, or contemporary interiors.
This item will arrive Santa Fe in mid-October '26.
