A charming vintage Chinese small cabinet crafted from solid elmwood, dating to the first half of the 20th century. The low, compact form features a paneled front with subtle carved decoration and a simple iron latch, framed by substantial corner posts and short block feet. Generations of use have given the elm a warm, beautifully weathered surface, revealing the natural grain, worn edges, old joinery, and rich variations in tone that give the piece its authentic character.
Its small scale and low profile make this an especially versatile accent piece. It works beautifully as a low bedside table, small side table, display stand, or decorative storage piece topped with pottery, books, or a favorite collected object. The combination of rustic elm, understated carving, and aged patina makes it especially appealing in Santa Fe, farmhouse, mountain modern, boho chic, or contemporary interiors.
This item will arrive Santa Fe in mid-October '26.
