A distinctive vintage Chinese water jar crafted from clay, dating to the first half of the 20th century. The elongated body rises into a narrow neck with a single substantial loop handle, reflecting the simple, utilitarian character of traditional Chinese pottery. Horizontal throwing marks remain visible around the body, while the softly weathered surface shows layers of muted terracotta, dusty rose, cream, and earthy beige developed through generations of use.
Originally made as a functional vessel for carrying and storing water, this jar makes a beautiful decorative object today. Its tall, sculptural form works well on a console, cabinet, pedestal, or tabletop, either displayed alone or grouped with other antique and vintage pottery. The earthy palette and time-worn surface bring warmth and texture to Santa Fe, farmhouse, boho chic, mountain modern, or minimalist interiors.
This item will arrive Santa Fe in mid-October '26.
