A distinctive vintage Chinese water jar crafted from clay, dating to the first half of the 20th century. The elongated oval body rises into a narrow neck with a softly flared rim and a single loop handle, reflecting the simple, functional forms of traditional Chinese pottery. Its pale, weathered surface features layers of cream, sand, soft terracotta, and gray, with natural markings and variations developed through generations of use.
Originally made as a functional vessel for carrying and storing water, this jar makes a beautiful decorative object today. Its tall, narrow form works beautifully on a console, cabinet, pedestal, or tabletop, either displayed alone or grouped with other antique and vintage pottery. The primitive silhouette and softly aged surface bring warmth and texture to Santa Fe, farmhouse, boho chic, mountain modern, or minimalist interiors.
This item will arrive Santa Fe in mid-October '26.
