A beautiful vintage Indigo pillow made from vintage wraps. These wraps were woven and dyed by people in West African countries such as Mali, Ghana, and Burkina Faso. Woven on small looms, we take the wraps and stitch them together to form these pillow covers. Each pillow is unique and irreplicable, and every stitch and weave hold the character to be cherished.
Indigo fabrics come from a complex dye process that was passed down by skilled women who typically worked in communal dye pits. Indigo cloth, which signifies wealth, abundance, and fertility, was the foundation of textile traditions in West Africa.
