Late Qing Dynasty from southwest China, carved in pine and originally painted. The interior walls and doors in Chinese vernacular architecture featured open lattice or carved decorative panels to let air pass through. The top ventilation panel in this set are small squares centered by carved flowers and pierced by arrows. These are outstanding examples which will anchor a sophisticated interior.
