Antique Indian Painted Teakwood Damachiya with later marble top, a very folksy one, with 18 small square carved panels, one wide door, profusely carved freize with horse heads, and fabulous old teal paint. A great example of antique Indian folk art. From Rajasthan, late 19th century.

A damachiya was a dowry chest commissioned by a father for his daughter to take with her to her marriage and hold her linens and handiwork.

This piece will arrive in Santa Fe in mid-November '25.
