An exceptional hand-carved teakwood architectural fragment from Rajasthan, originally positioned above a window frame. Richly detailed with traditional floral and urn motifs, it has a beautiful aged patina, and this unique piece brings history, artistry, and worldly character to any interior. c. 1880–1900.

Once an important decorative element in traditional Indian homes and havelis, these carved crown boards were installed above windows and doorways to display both craftsmanship and status. Today, they make extraordinary wall art, bringing warmth, texture, and history to interiors ranging from Santa Fe and mountain modern to eclectic, bohemian, and traditional spaces.
