A distinctive antique Chinese wine jar dating to the late Qing dynasty. The ceramic vessel features a softly rounded body, gently sloping shoulders, and a short neck finished with a dark rim. Its creamy white glaze is decorated with hand-painted brown motifs and simple linear bands, creating a restrained, graphic quality. Faded decoration, glaze variations, and surface wear developed over generations give the jar a beautifully time-worn character.
Originally used for storing or transporting wine and other liquids, this jar makes a wonderful decorative object today. Its balanced proportions and neutral palette make it ideal for a console, cabinet, pedestal, or tabletop, either displayed alone or grouped with other antique Chinese pottery. The softly weathered surface works beautifully in Santa Fe, wabi-sabi, boho chic, rustic, eclectic, or contemporary interiors.
This item will arrive Santa Fe in mid-October '26.
