A distinctive antique Chinese cabinet from Gansu province crafted from solid pine, dating to the late Qing dynasty. The cabinet retains a wonderfully aged dark lacquered surface, heavily worn over generations to reveal warm natural wood and layers of earlier finish beneath. Two large paneled doors are framed by subtle decorative detailing along the upper edge and sides, giving the otherwise simple form added character. The extensive surface wear, fading, and exposed wood create a richly textured, authentic patina.
Its long, shallow proportions and generous enclosed storage make this cabinet especially versatile as a dining room sideboard, entry cabinet, or living room storage piece. The restrained form and deeply weathered surface pair beautifully with both antique and contemporary furnishings, particularly in Santa Fe, wabi-sabi, mountain modern, boho chic, rustic, or minimalist interiors.
This item will arrive Santa Fe in mid-October '26.
