A striking antique Chinese door crafted from solid elmwood, dating to the late Qing dynasty. The two-panel construction features rows of traditional metal studs arranged across the face, creating a strong rhythmic pattern against the beautifully aged wood. An ornate central metal lock plate with ring hardware provides a sculptural focal point and reinforces the door’s architectural character. Generations of exposure and use have given the elm a warm, weathered surface with visible grain, worn edges, tonal variations, and a rich natural patina.
Originally an architectural element, this impressive door can be repurposed as an interior or entry door, mounted on a barn-door slider, or displayed as a dramatic wall panel. Its combination of substantial elm, traditional metalwork, and beautifully aged surface makes it especially suited to Santa Fe, mountain modern, wabi-sabi, rustic, or contemporary interiors.
This item will arrive Santa Fe in mid-October '26.
